A Nigerian man, Nasiru Musa Idris, has accused Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi of keeping his Moroccan wife away from him for nearly a year following a marriage counselling session.
According to Idris, he introduced his wife to the cleric after Gumi requested to speak with her regarding issues in their marriage. However, he claims communication with his wife stopped shortly after the meeting, leading to an 11-month dispute that has now drawn public attention.
Idris further alleged that disagreements over marriage documentation complicated the matter, despite the couple possessing marriage certificates recognized in both Morocco and Nigeria.
The claims have sparked widespread debate online, with many calling for clarity from all parties involved.
