Social critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has responded to the Nigerian Police Force after he was invited to substantiate his allegation that some police officers assist kidnappers in carrying out their activities.

VDM made the allegation while speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) summit held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday, August 27.

Following his comments, the police reportedly called on him to provide evidence to support his claims.

However, in his response, VDM maintained that he stands by his statement and challenged the police to charge him to court, where he said he would present the evidence backing his allegations.

In a statement directed at the police, he said: “To the Nigerian Police, I said what I said. You will get your evidence when I am charged to court.”

He further alleged that the police and military are connected to the activities of “unknown gunmen” and reiterated his position that some members of the security forces aid kidnappings.

VDM concluded by challenging the police to take legal action against him, insisting that the evidence would be presented in court if he is charged.
