The Delta State Police Command has re-arrested eight of the 11 suspects who reportedly escaped from police custody in Ughelli, Delta State.
The suspects were said to have escaped while being held at a police facility in the area. Following the incident, the command launched an immediate operation to track down the escapees and return them to custody.
The police have now successfully apprehended eight of the suspects, while efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the remaining three.
Authorities have assured residents that the search operation will continue until all the escaped suspects are brought back into custody.
The command is also expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the escape and determine how the suspects managed to flee from the facility.
The police urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide useful information that could assist investigators in apprehending the remaining escapees.
