Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has said that the rehabilitation and recovery of the pupils, teachers, and other victims recently rescued after spending 56 days in captivity is now his administration’s top priority.
The governor explained that while the successful rescue operation was a major achievement, the next step is ensuring that the victims receive the medical care, psychological support, and counseling needed to help them recover from the trauma of their ordeal.
Makinde also assured that the state government would work closely with the victims’ families and relevant agencies to support their safe reintegration into society. He praised the efforts of security operatives whose coordinated operation led to the safe rescue of the abductees.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to improving security across Oyo State and preventing similar incidents, stressing that the safety and well-being of residents remain a key focus of his administration.
