President Bola Tinubu is currently chairing a meeting of the Council of State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.The high-level meeting, which brings together former Presidents, Vice Presidents, and key state officials, is expected to deliberate on several national issues, including the appointment of a new Chairman for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to sources, President Tinubu is presenting nominees for the position, following the expiration of the tenure of the current INEC Chairman.The Council’s recommendations will guide the President’s final decision on who will steer the electoral body ahead of future elections.
