The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended 12 suspected armed robbers in connection with the tragic killing of Arise News journalist, Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu, and a security guard, Barnabas Danlami, during a robbery incident in Abuja.
According to police sources, the suspects were arrested following a series of coordinated operations carried out across different parts of the city. Preliminary investigations suggest that the group was responsible for multiple robbery attacks in the area, including the fatal incident that led to the deaths of Maduagwu and Danlami.
The FCT Police Command assured residents that all suspects are in custody and that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.The late Maduagwu, a UK-trained lawyer and journalist with Arise Television, tragically lost her life in the attack that shocked many across the media industry and beyond.
