Troops of the Nigerian Army, working alongside operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested three suspected suppliers of illicit drugs believed to be linked to terrorist and criminal groups in Katsina State.

The suspects were apprehended during a coordinated operation aimed at disrupting the supply of illegal substances to armed groups operating in parts of the state. Security officials said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to cut off logistics and support networks used by terrorists and bandits.

Items believed to be illicit drugs were recovered during the raid, while investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement and identify other members of the network.

Security authorities said the operation highlights the growing collaboration between the military and the NDLEA in tackling drug trafficking, which has been identified as a major source of support for terrorist and criminal activities.

The arrested suspects are expected to face further investigation and possible prosecution in accordance with the law. Authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying operations against individuals and groups involved in supplying drugs and other forms of support to terrorists and bandits across the country.
