Nigerian Army troops have rescued six people who were abducted by suspected kidnappers during a routine patrol in Katsina State.
The victims, made up of four women and two boys, were freed after soldiers responded swiftly to intelligence and intensified security operations in the area.
According to military sources, the troops encountered the kidnappers during the patrol, forcing the suspects to abandon the victims and flee into nearby bushes under pressure from the advancing soldiers.
The rescued victims were safely evacuated and have since been reunited with their families after receiving preliminary medical attention and debriefing.
Security forces have continued clearance operations across the area to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further criminal activities.
