Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully destroyed a terrorist hideout and rescued three kidnapped victims during a series of coordinated operations in Zamfara State.
According to military sources, the operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to rid the North-West region of criminal elements and restore security to affected communities. The troops reportedly engaged the terrorists in a fierce confrontation, forcing them to abandon their camp and flee into surrounding forests.
During the operation, soldiers recovered several items from the camp and rescued three hostages who had been held captive by the terrorists. The victims were provided with immediate medical attention and have since been reunited with relevant authorities for further care and debriefing.
Military authorities stated that the operation forms part of sustained offensives aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, disrupting their activities, and rescuing victims of abduction across Zamfara and neighbouring states.
The Army reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining pressure on criminal groups and urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible information that could aid ongoing operations.
Security operations in the region are expected to continue as troops intensify efforts to track down fleeing terrorists and eliminate remaining threats to peace and stability.
