Residents of Idogun community in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State have been thrown into fear following a violent attack by suspected bandits who destroyed several houses and abducted a nine-year-old boy.
The victim, identified as the son of a local pastor, was reportedly kidnapped during the raid, which occurred in the early hours of the day. Eyewitnesses said the attackers stormed the community, vandalized properties, and caused panic among residents before fleeing with the child.
Community members expressed concern over the growing insecurity in the area, calling on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and property.
The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the incident and assured residents that efforts are underway to rescue the abducted boy and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
Security operatives have reportedly launched a manhunt for the kidnappers, while investigations into the incident continue.
Residents have also appealed to the government and security agencies to strengthen surveillance and security presence in the area to prevent further attacks.
