Paul Ibe, media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to invite Sunday Igboho for questioning over his claims that certain politicians are sponsoring kidnappers responsible for the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Ibe made the call in a post on X, arguing that if Igboho truly possesses information about those backing the kidnappers, security agencies should obtain the names and investigate them immediately to aid rescue efforts and improve security in the state.
The demand followed recent remarks by Igboho, who alleged that some politicians were providing financial and logistical support to criminal groups involved in the school abductions. He warned that he would publicly expose those behind the attacks if the situation continues.
Igboho also claimed he had offered to help rescue the abducted victims but was prevented from doing so by the Oyo State Government. According to him, he has the capacity to confront the kidnappers and flush them out if given the opportunity.
Meanwhile, security agencies and the Federal Government have intensified efforts to secure the release of the abducted pupils and teachers, with top security officials recently visiting Oyo State as rescue operation
