Police in Anambra State have arrested a driver accused of masterminding the abduction and murder of his employer, a bishop based in Delta State, before allegedly fleeing with the victim’s Toyota Prado Jeep to Anambra.
According to reports, the suspect, who worked as a domestic staff member to the clergyman, was apprehended in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, while attempting to dispose of the stolen vehicle.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred after the suspect allegedly abducted and killed the bishop, whose identity has not been officially disclosed by authorities at the time of reporting.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are ongoing to uncover more details surrounding the gruesome crime.
The police also assured the public that the suspect will be prosecuted accordingly after investigations are concluded.
