The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Mustapha Abdullahi, over alleged involvement in a N500 billion fraud and money laundering case.

According to reports, EFCC operatives picked up the commission boss in Abuja as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial mismanagement, diversion of public funds, and suspicious transactions linked to the agency.

Sources revealed that Abdullahi is currently being held in EFCC custody while investigators continue questioning and reviewing documents connected to the alleged fraud.

The anti-graft agency is yet to release an official detailed statement regarding the allegations, but the arrest has already sparked reactions across social media and political circles.
