Two hunters have been killed after gunmen attacked a convoy in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The incident happened on Tuesday when the victims were part of a group transporting the bodies of three deceased hunters from Oro-Ago to Oke-Oyan for burial.
According to reports, the convoy was just a few kilometres away from its destination when the attackers struck, opening fire and causing panic. In the chaos, two of the hunters were fatally shot.
The attack has raised fresh concerns about security in the area, especially as the victims were already mourning their fallen colleagues before the tragic incident occurred.
