Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has rewarded a 14-year-old spelling champion, Oluwadamilola Adeolu, with a cash prize of ₦8 million and full sponsorship to represent Nigeria at the upcoming World Spelling Bee finals in China.
Oluwadamilola, who recently emerged as the Ekiti State Spelling Bee champion, earned widespread recognition for her exceptional performance, brilliance, and composure throughout the competition. Her victory has been celebrated as a proud moment for the state and a testament to the potential of young talents in Nigeria.
In a commendation ceremony held in her honour, Governor Oyebanji praised the young champion for her dedication, hard work, and academic excellence. The governor announced a reward package of ₦8 million to support her educational journey and further motivate her to achieve greater heights. In addition, he pledged full sponsorship covering travel, accommodation, and other logistics to enable her participation in the World Spelling Bee finals scheduled to take place in China.
