Troops under Operation HADIN KAI have reportedly intercepted ₦37 million suspected to be linked to terrorist activities along the Maiduguri–Gubio Road in Borno State.
According to reports, the money was discovered hidden in bags inside a suspicious vehicle stopped at a military checkpoint. Five individuals were arrested during the operation, while mobile phones believed to be connected to terrorist coordination were also recovered.
Security sources described the interception as a major step in disrupting the financial networks that sustain insurgent operations in the region.
This development comes shortly after a similar incident in February, where troops also intercepted ₦37 million at another checkpoint, raising concerns that terrorist groups still have active and well-funded logistics channels despite ongoing military pressure.
Authorities confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the broader network behind the funding and operations.
