Army Foils Terrorist Attacks in Adamawa, Borno

News

Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation HADIN KAI have successfully foiled coordinated terrorist attacks in parts of Adamawa and Borno states, dealing a major blow to insurgent groups operating in the region.

According to military sources, the terrorists attempted to launch simultaneous attacks on troop locations and nearby communities, but were swiftly repelled following credible intelligence and the alertness of soldiers on the ground. The troops engaged the assailants in intense firefights, forcing them to retreat.

Several terrorists were neutralised during the encounters, while others escaped with gunshot wounds. The soldiers also recovered arms, ammunition, and other logistics, including rifles, magazines, and explosive materials believed to be intended for the attacks.

No casualties were recorded among the troops, while normalcy has since returned to the affected areas. The Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements and ensuring the safety of civilians across the North-East.

Residents were urged to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information as operations against insurgents remain ongoing.
