The Benin Traditional Council has raised serious concerns following an unauthorized visit to the royal palace by popular streamer, Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, widely known as Peller.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Council disclosed that the Queen who allegedly granted Peller access into the palace without proper approval may face severe disciplinary action, including possible expulsion from the palace.
According to palace authorities, the visit violated long-standing traditions and protocols that strictly regulate who is permitted to enter the sacred premises of the Benin royal institution. The palace, regarded as a highly revered cultural and historical symbol, maintains rigid guidelines to preserve its sanctity.
Sources within the Council emphasized that no individual, regardless of status or influence, is allowed entry without clearance from the appropriate authorities. The incident has therefore been described as a serious breach of protocol.
The Council further noted that investigations are currently ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the visit, as well as identify all parties involved. Those found culpable may face sanctions in line with traditional laws and customs.
This development has sparked widespread reactions online, with many calling for respect for cultural institutions and adherence to established traditions.
More details are expected to emerge as the situation unfolds.
