Ebonyi State University Expels Three Students Over Gun Possession During SUG Election

The management of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) has expelled three students captured in a viral video allegedly brandishing firearms during the institution’s recently concluded Students’ Union Government (SUG) election.

According to a statement issued by the university authorities, the decision followed investigations that confirmed the involvement of the students in acts capable of breaching peace and endangering lives on campus.The management described the conduct as “gross misconduct and a serious violation of university regulations,” stressing that the institution maintains zero tolerance for cultism, violence, and any form of criminal activity.

The statement added that the expelled students have been handed over to security agencies for further investigation and possible prosecution.The university reiterated its commitment to maintaining a peaceful academic environment and warned that any student found engaging in unlawful acts would face severe disciplinary action.
