
Troops of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army have killed two suspected terrorists during a security operation in Akoko North-East, Ondo State.
The operation, conducted along the Akunu–Auga road on Saturday, also led to the recovery of an AK‑47 rifle, two magazines, 61 rounds of ammunition, and other items including mobile phones, a jackknife, a torchlight, illicit drugs, charms, and cash.

According to Major Irabor Njoka, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the soldiers acted on credible intelligence about the suspects’ movements. Some other suspects reportedly escaped, sustaining gunshot wounds.

The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) and local vigilante groups. The Army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting residents and urged the public to continue providing timely information to aid security efforts.
