Tinubu Not Missing, Not Absent From Duties — Lagos APC Tells Obi

News

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is missing or absent from his official responsibilities.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the party described the allegation as misleading and politically motivated, stressing that the President remains fully engaged in the affairs of the nation.

Reacting to comments credited to Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, the Lagos APC said President Tinubu is actively carrying out his duties, both at home and abroad, in line with constitutional provisions and established governance practices.

The party noted that it is not unusual for a sitting president to work from different locations, adding that Tinubu’s movements and engagements are part of efforts to attract investments, strengthen diplomatic ties, and address critical national issues.

According to the APC, governance goes beyond physical presence at Aso Rock, as the President continues to receive briefings, issue directives, and make key decisions affecting the country.

The Lagos APC urged political actors to refrain from spreading what it termed “unnecessary panic and misinformation,” advising Nigerians to rely on official communication channels for accurate updates on the President’s activities.

It reaffirmed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and commitment to delivering on his administration’s agenda, assuring Nigerians that there is no vacuum in governance.
