The denial follows a viral video in which an unidentified individual claimed that certain UNIMAID students were collaborating with insurgents. Reacting to the claims, the university’s Registrar described the allegations as false, unfounded, and misleading.
According to the Registrar, there is no evidence to support the claim that any student of the institution has ties with Boko Haram. He stressed that UNIMAID maintains a strong working relationship with security agencies and has consistently upheld strict security measures on campus to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The university management warned members of the public against spreading unverified information capable of causing panic and damaging the reputation of the institution. It also urged social media users to always verify information from credible sources before sharing.
UNIMAID reassured parents, students, and the general public of its commitment to security, peace, and academic excellence, stating that the institution remains focused on providing a safe learning environment despite the security challenges in the region.
