Gunmen have attacked the National Park Service office in Oloka, Oyo State, leaving five personnel dead.
According to police sources, the assailants stormed the facility in the early hours, opened fire on officers on duty, and fled the scene before reinforcements arrived. The identities of the attackers and their motive are yet to be established.
The Oyo State Police Command confirmed the incident, describing it as a coordinated and violent attack. Security operatives have since been deployed to the area, while a manhunt has been launched to track down the perpetrators.
The bodies of the victims have been recovered and taken to a morgue, as investigations continue. Authorities have assured residents that measures are being put in place to restore calm and strengthen security around government facilities in the state.
