The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police have arrested a 32-year-old man, Ahmed Abubakar, in Abuja for allegedly attempting to purchase 1,000 rounds of ammunition intended for bandits operating in Zamfara State.
Police confirmed that Abubakar was intercepted before he could complete the transaction, which authorities said could have fueled violent criminal activities in the region. The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to face prosecution for violating Nigeria’s firearms and security laws.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to curbing the supply of weapons to criminal elements and urged citizens to report any suspicious activities.
