The Bauchi State Police Command has handed over a large cache of illicit drugs weighing 161 kilograms to operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) following a successful anti-narcotics operation.
According to the command, officers intercepted the substances — including large quantities of Tramadol and other prohibited drugs — during a coordinated raid that led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer believed to be a key distributor in the area.
Police authorities said the handover to the NDLEA was in line with standard procedures to ensure proper investigation, prosecution, and eventual destruction of the seized substances. They added that the collaboration between both agencies highlights the renewed effort to combat drug trafficking and abuse across the state.

The NDLEA has since commenced further profiling of the suspect and documentation of the exhibits, assuring that the case will be pursued diligently in court.
The Bauchi command encouraged residents to continue providing credible information that could help curb the rising circulation of narcotics within communities.
