The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, has called on Nigerians to desist from engaging touts and unauthorized middlemen when seeking passports or any other immigration-related services.
Speaking on Friday, Nandap emphasized that the NIS has strengthened its systems to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring that citizens can access support and official guidance without relying on intermediaries.
She noted that the Service has put in place transparent and efficient channels—both online and at service centers—to handle inquiries, applications, and complaints directly. According to her, the continued use of touts not only exposes applicants to fraud but also undermines ongoing reforms aimed at improving service delivery.
Nandap urged the public to make full use of official platforms and to report any suspicious activities, stressing that the NIS remains committed to delivering timely, secure, and technology-driven solutions for all Nigerians.
