The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Edo State Command, says it arrested 44 suspected drug traffickers and seized more than 2,059 kilograms of illicit substances during its operations in November.

The State Commander, in a statement on Thursday, said the arrests were made across several hotspots in the state, following intensified raids and intelligence-driven operations. The seized drugs included large quantities of cannabis sativa, methamphetamine and other controlled substances.

According to the agency, the month-long operation also led to the destruction of multiple drug farms and the interception of consignments intended for distribution within and outside the state.

The NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the fight against drug abuse and trafficking, urging residents to support the agency with credible information to curb the spread of narcotics in Edo State.
