No fewer than 37 people who were kidnapped by bandits in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State have regained their freedom.

The victims, who were abducted during recent attacks on several communities in the area, were released after days in captivity. Local sources confirmed that the abductors freed the hostages late Thursday night, allowing them to return to their families.

Although details surrounding the conditions of their release remain unclear, community leaders expressed relief, noting that the victims appeared weak but stable after their ordeal.

Residents of Bakori LGA, who have endured repeated attacks in recent months, called on the government to intensify security operations in the area to prevent further incidents.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the development, but security operatives have reportedly commenced debriefing and medical checks on the freed victims.
