
The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed a tragic attack on a church in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, which left two worshippers dead and one person injured.
According to the police, the assault was carried out by suspected bandits who stormed the church during a service, opening fire and causing panic among congregants.

Security operatives were quickly deployed to the scene, but the attackers had fled before their arrival.
The injured victim is currently receiving treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited in a morgue.

Police authorities say an investigation is underway, and officers have been mobilised to track down the perpetrators as part of efforts to curb rising insecurity in the region.
The command also urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as they work to restore peace.
