Veritas University, Abuja, has refuted claims by a former Catholic sister that the institution ignored her allegations of sexual harassment.In a statement released on Friday, the university’s spokesperson described the allegation as false, stressing that the school followed due process in handling the matter.
According to the statement, a four-member committee was set up to investigate the claims after the ex-sister lodged her complaint. The committee reportedly invited her to present evidence to support her allegations, but she failed to do so.“The claim that Veritas University ignored her allegations of sexual harassment is untrue.
A committee was duly constituted to investigate the matter, and she was given ample opportunity to present the evidence she claimed to have,” the spokesman stated.The university reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and ethical learning environment, noting that it takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and ensures fair hearing for all parties involved.
