Boko Haram terrorists have launched a deadly attack on a military base in Ngamdu, along the Damaturu–Maiduguri highway in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State, leaving four soldiers dead and five others injured.Security sources said the insurgents stormed the location in the early hours of Friday, engaging troops in a fierce gun battle.
The attackers, who arrived in several vehicles mounted with machine guns, were reportedly repelled after reinforcements arrived from a nearby formation.The wounded soldiers have been evacuated to a military medical facility for treatment, while operations are ongoing to track down the fleeing terrorists.
Ngamdu, located along the strategic corridor linking Yobe and Borno states, has witnessed several attacks in recent years as Boko Haram and ISWAP elements continue to target military positions and commuters in the region.
