
The Department of State Services (DSS) has released two journalists from Jay 101.9 FM, Jos, who were arrested during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Plateau State on Saturday.The reporters, who were covering events surrounding the President’s attendance at the burial ceremony of the mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof.

Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, were reportedly detained despite identifying themselves as members of the press.Their arrest sparked public criticism, with media groups and rights advocates condemning the action as an attempt to intimidate journalists.

Following mounting pressure, the DSS released the duo late Saturday, though the agency has not yet provided an official explanation for their detention.Jay 101.9 FM management has expressed relief over their release and called for greater respect for press freedom and the rights of journalists to carry out their duties without harassment.
