Police Foil Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Victim in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has successfully rescued a kidnapped victim just hours after he was abducted by suspected gunmen in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.The incident occurred on Tuesday along the Oba/Ojoto axis, where the victim was reportedly whisked away by armed men.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, police operatives swiftly mobilised following a distress call and launched a coordinated operation to track down the assailants.After several hours of pursuit, the police intercepted the criminals and rescued the victim unharmed, barely seven hours after the abduction. The kidnappers, sensing the heat from advancing officers, fled the scene, abandoning their captive.

The police further revealed that efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects, while patrols have been intensified within the axis to forestall similar incidents.The Commissioner of Police, in a statement, commended the swift response of the operatives and assured residents of the Command’s commitment to tackling violent crimes in the state. He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to provide timely information that could help security agencies in their operations.
