The father of Christiana Idowu, a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has raised alarm over the slow pace of justice in the case of his late daughter, who was brutally murdered a year ago.Christiana, a promising young student, was allegedly killed by 23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye. Despite the arrest of the suspect, her grieving father says the case has since lost momentum, leaving the family in deep frustration and despair.Speaking in an emotional video, he appealed to Nigerians, civil society groups, and relevant authorities to intervene and ensure that justice is served.

He lamented that one year after the tragedy, the whereabouts and prosecution status of the suspected killer remain unclear.“This is my child, my only daughter. She was cut down in her prime, and since then, we have been crying for justice. We don’t know what has happened to the case or the suspect.

I am pleading with Nigerians to come to our aid,” he said. The grieving father further urged security agencies and the judiciary not to allow the matter to be swept under the carpet, stressing that the family deserves closure and accountability for their daughter’s death. The case has sparked renewed calls for reform in Nigeria’s justice system, particularly in handling criminal cases involving young victims.
