Reps demand full details of N2.4tn disbursed to contractorsThe House of Representatives on Monday ordered the Accountant-General of the Federation, Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, to provide a comprehensive breakdown of the N2.4 trillion recently released by the Federal Government to contractors across the country.

Lawmakers said the disclosure is necessary to ensure transparency and accountability in the utilisation of public funds. They directed Ogunjimi to submit the details of the disbursements, including the list of benefiting contractors and the specific projects tied to the funds.

The resolution followed a motion raised during plenary, where members stressed the need for proper oversight of government spending, particularly on infrastructure projects. The House maintained that without such scrutiny, allegations of mismanagement and diversion of funds could persist, undermining public trust in governance.
