Washington, D.C. – Next week, U.S. President Donald Trump is set to welcome leaders from five African nations to Washington, D.C., for a series of high-level discussions aimed at bolstering commercial opportunities between the United States and the African continent.
The White House confirmed that the meeting, scheduled for July 9, will include leaders from Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, and Senegal, culminating in a working lunch.
A White House official, speaking on the rationale behind the gathering, emphasized President Trump’s belief in the immense commercial potential within African countries.
President Trump believes that African countries offer incredible commercial opportunities that benefit both the American people and our African partners,” the official stated, underscoring the administration’s pivot towards a more trade- and investment-centric approach to its engagement with Africa.
