Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank PlDr. Onyeali-Ikpe was not connected to the alleged fraudulent scheme at the time of its perpetration. Specifically, the statement emphasized that she was neither the account officer nor the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank when the account central to the alleged fraud was opened.
Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, stressed that his action was firmly rooted in the principles of justice, fairness, and the rule of law.
He conveyed his unwavering confidence that this decision was in the best interest of justice and the public at large. It’s important to note that this discontinuation of charges against Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe does not exculpate Fidelity Bank itself from the allegations, as the charge against the institution remains pending before the court.
