Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, wife of the late Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, believes her husband would still be alive if he had listened to her advice.
Governor Akeredolu died of prostate cancer complications in December 2023.In an interview with Star News.
Mrs. Akeredolu stated that her husband prioritized the guidance of spiritualists and pastors over her recommendations. Referencing various religious practices, she questioned the efficacy of their interventions, saying,
“If Aketi had listened to me, I wouldn’t be a widow.”Having survived breast cancer herself, Mrs. Akeredolu urged Nigerians facing health issues to seek medical attention from specialized doctors rather than relying on faith healers.
She emphasized that pastors are not medical professionals and that prayer alone cannot cure diseases like cancer.
