The Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspected kidnappers and armed robbers in separate operations across the state, recovering firearms and other incriminating items.
According to the police, the arrests were made following intelligence gathering and coordinated operations by security operatives aimed at tackling kidnapping, armed robbery, and other violent crimes in the state.
In one of the operations, officers apprehended suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate believed to be involved in a series of abductions within the area. During the raid, security personnel recovered firearms and ammunition allegedly used by the suspects in carrying out their criminal activities.
In a separate operation, police operatives arrested additional suspects linked to armed robbery incidents. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had allegedly been terrorizing residents and commuters before their arrest.
The Commissioner of Police in Delta State commended the officers involved in the operations, noting that the arrests demonstrate the command’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents.
He urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with credible information that could assist in identifying and apprehending criminal elements operating within their communities.
The police said investigations are ongoing and assured residents that efforts would be intensified to dismantle criminal networks across the state.
