The Edo State Police Command has recovered the bodies of two suspected kidnap victims from a forest in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state and arrested one suspect linked to the crime.
According to police sources, the victims were allegedly abducted by a gang of kidnappers who later subjected them to severe torture while demanding ransom from their families. Despite efforts to secure their freedom, the victims were reportedly killed by their captors.
Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Edo State Police Command launched a coordinated operation into the forest where the victims were believed to have been held. During the operation, officers recovered the bodies and arrested one suspect suspected to be a member of the kidnapping syndicate.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting investigators with information that could lead to the arrest of other members of the gang who remain at large.
The police assured residents that efforts are ongoing to dismantle criminal networks operating in the state and bring all those involved in the crime to justice.

The Command also urged members of the public to continue providing useful information that can aid security agencies in tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes across Edo State.
Meanwhile, investigations into the incident are ongoing, while the recovered bodies have been deposited in a mortuary for further examination and identification procedures.
