The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has successfully conducted its state congress in Cross River State, ushering in a new set of executives to steer the party’s affairs at the state level.
At the end of the congress, Goddy Akpama emerged as the State Chairman, alongside other elected officials who will form the party’s leadership structure in Cross River. The exercise, which was attended by party faithful and stakeholders, was described as peaceful and well-organized.
In his acceptance speech, Akpama expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to strengthen the party’s presence in the state and work towards building a formidable political structure ahead of future elections.
The newly elected leadership also used the opportunity to reaffirm the party’s political direction at the national level. The NDC declared its support for prominent political figures, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, signaling its alignment with their ideologies and vision for Nigeria.
Party leaders at the event emphasized the need for unity and grassroots mobilization, urging members to remain committed and actively engage in efforts to expand the party’s influence across Cross River and beyond.
The congress marks a significant step for the NDC as it continues to position itself within Nigeria’s evolving political landscape, with renewed focus on coalition-building and strategic partnerships ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
