Troops have intercepted a large cache of ammunition and improvised explosive device (IED) components along the Kaduna–Jos highway during a coordinated security operation.
Military sources said the operation was carried out after intelligence indicated suspicious movement of arms along the busy route. Acting on the tip-off, soldiers reportedly mounted a stop-and-search operation, which led to the discovery of the concealed ammunition and IED materials.
Seven suspects were arrested at the scene in connection with the consignment. They were taken into custody for further questioning as security agencies move to uncover the network behind the movement of the weapons and determine their intended destination.
The recovered items have been secured by the military, while investigations are ongoing. Authorities are expected to provide further details as the case develops.
