Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has reaffirmed that his country has no intention of pursuing nuclear weapons, insisting that Iran has neither sought nor will ever seek to build a nuclear bomb.Speaking before world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran’s nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes.
He maintained that the nation’s position has remained consistent over the years, despite allegations and pressure from Western powers.“Iran has never sought and will never seek to produce nuclear weapons,” the President declared, adding that Tehran remains committed to international obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty.Pezeshkian also used the platform to call on other nations to respect Iran’s sovereignty and to stop what he described as “unjust accusations” aimed at isolating the country.
His remarks come amid renewed debates over the Iran nuclear deal and growing tensions in the Middle East.
