The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a major success in its ongoing counter-terrorism operations in Borno State, killing more than 40 terrorists during coordinated airstrikes.
According to military sources, the strikes were carried out on terrorist hideouts in Azir and Musarram, areas known to be used by insurgents as staging grounds for attacks. Intelligence reports indicated that the terrorists were planning coordinated assaults on nearby communities and security positions.
Acting on credible intelligence, NAF fighter jets engaged the targets with precision strikes, leading to the destruction of several terrorist camps, logistics hubs, and weapons caches. Many terrorists were neutralized on the spot, while others were forced to flee with severe injuries.
The operation is said to have significantly disrupted the group’s operational capacity and prevented imminent attacks that could have resulted in civilian casualties.
Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements in the North-East, stressing that air and ground operations will continue until all threats to peace and security are eliminated.
Residents in the affected areas have expressed relief, noting a reduction in terrorist movement following the airstrikes.
