Tragedy struck along the Otedola Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway after a speeding truck rammed into a vehicle, killing a father, mother, and their child on the spot.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed that the truck driver, responsible for the fatal crash, fled the scene immediately after the incident, escaping with the truck before officials arrived.
Eyewitnesses said the family’s vehicle was crushed beyond recognition, causing heavy traffic in the area.
Emergency responders and LASTMA officers later recovered the victims’ bodies and cleared the wreckage to restore traffic flow.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the fleeing driver, as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
