The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has carried out a series of coordinated raids across Delta, Imo, and several other states, leading to the interception of 7.6 million tramadol pills and 76,273 kilograms of cannabis, among other illicit substances.
According to the agency, the operations were part of an intensified nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking networks. In Delta State, operatives stormed multiple locations used as storage hubs, seizing millions of opioid tablets concealed in warehouses and transport vehicles. Several suspects linked to the distribution rings were arrested.
Similarly, in Imo and other states, NDLEA teams uncovered large cannabis farms and intercepted trucks transporting compressed cannabis consignments. The agency said the massive haul underscores the scale at which drug cartels continue to operate, while reaffirming its commitment to dismantling such criminal networks.
NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the officers involved, noting that the agency will sustain its offensive until drug traffickers “have no hiding place anywhere in Nigeria.”
Investigations are ongoing as the suspects remain in custody and more coordinated operations are expected in the coming weeks.
