The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested several suspected financiers of bandit and terrorist activities, alongside a syndicate of motorcycle thieves, in a major coordinated operation across the state.
According to the Command, the suspects were tracked through intelligence gathered over several weeks, leading to raids that uncovered how money, motorcycles, and other logistics were being supplied to criminal groups operating in the region. Security operatives said the breakthrough has disrupted a crucial funding channel that has long supported bandit activities.
Items recovered during the operation include motorcycles, cash, communication devices, and documents believed to contain details of financial transactions with criminal networks.
Police authorities added that investigations are ongoing and efforts are underway to apprehend more collaborators linked to the network. The suspects will be charged to court once all inquiries are concluded.
The Command reassured residents of its commitment to intensifying the fight against banditry, terrorism, and related crimes across Sokoto State.
