In response to escalating insecurity, Omala Local Government Area in Kogi State has announced a curfew and banned all vigils within its jurisdiction.
The local government stated that the curfew, which will run daily from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am, is aimed at protecting lives and curbing rising criminal activities.
Authorities emphasized that the ban on vigils and night gatherings is a precautionary measure to prevent attacks and ensure the safety of residents.
Residents have been urged to comply fully with the new directives and report any suspicious activities to the local security agencies. The local government assured citizens that these measures are temporary and necessary to restore peace and order in the area.
