The 38 members of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, Eruku, in Kwara State—who were rescued from their abductors last Sunday—have still not been released to their families, sparking growing concern among relatives and church leaders.
Although the victims were confirmed to have regained their freedom after days in captivity, the Kwara State Government has yet to hand them over to their loved ones. Families who have been anxiously waiting since the announcement of their rescue say they have received no official update on when the victims will be reunited with them.
Church authorities are also calling on the state government and security agencies to expedite the process, stressing that the victims need urgent medical attention, counseling, and the comfort of their families after the traumatic experience.
Officials have not provided reasons for the delay, but sources suggest that security and documentation procedures may be ongoing.
Relatives, however, are pleading for transparency and a swift release, insisting that the rescued worshippers have suffered enough and should not be kept away any longer.
