Two prominent American lawmakers, Riley Moore and Senator Ted Cruz, have issued a strong warning to the Federal Government of Nigeria, urging it not to test President Donald Trump’s determination to confront the ongoing attacks and killings allegedly targeting Christians across the country.

In a joint statement released on Friday, the lawmakers called on Nigeria’s leadership to cooperate fully with the United States in addressing what they described as a humanitarian and religious crisis.

According to them, the Trump administration remains committed to protecting religious freedom globally and will not tolerate the continued persecution of Christians in Nigeria.Moore emphasized that the world is watching how Nigeria handles the growing insecurity, noting that any government that fails to protect its citizens risks international consequences.

Senator Ted Cruz added that the US is prepared to work with Nigeria but warned that inaction or resistance from the Federal Government could prompt stronger diplomatic responses.

Both lawmakers appealed for urgent steps to stop the violence and ensure justice for victims, stressing that peace and stability in Nigeria are crucial to regional and global security.
